i agree! i have 3, 2 professional and 1 personal. i do my best to keep up with them, but i'm starting to lose track. not sure if i should bother continuing on with my few-posts-per-blog situation, or break down and end one (i have to keep up my personal blog).
In the process of developing my first professional blog. I would have no time to maintain a personal one with the constant focus on the content for the professional one.
From Tresa: Our company has 3 blogs. One is written by our Chief Evangelist (Head of PR) and then we have 2 others that are generated by 2 local offices. The local offices deal with topics related to business areas where they focus. The Chief Evangelist addresses industry issues and updates on insights from national and international conferences where he speaks.
This weekend I'm leaving my family and moving to the south of france to starr a personal blog. Once i find a winery I'll start my business blog and you can purchase wine from me
We don't call it a blog, but we just set up a "news" section on our web site at http://www.coastalwoodworks.com/news/. I know, it's pretty lame right now, but at least we have an infrastructure for a dynamic site. Up until last week, the site had been static for over two years.
The other effort that might be considered a blog (maybe better called a micro blog) is our Twitter account at http://twitter.com/retail_display. (if you're on Twitter, gimme a follow :-) We're not exactly sure how this will play into our marketing, but I guess that will become apparent when we've developed a following of people with similar interests. For now we've found that it is a great way to better stay up on industry buzz ... which is important when you are isolates in small town Maine. :-)
