I think both of them are great for different reasons. Squidoo helps your web presence ranking and expertise profile and facebook leverages and builds community relationships.
I find that if you have a clear objective set then blogging will be profitable for you. You just need to have set goals from the beginning and know exactly what you want to say.
It depends on your objective -- sounds like squidoo will help you with your SEO efforts, where facebook is a place to build a community, but will require a time commitment to keep it relevant and increase your fans.
