Myspace tv has posted a new toyota ad tv series called "Quarterlife", a show about a indie twenty-something with a macbook and enough melancholy to to out-meloncholy Williamsburg. So far I've only watched the first episode, but it doesn't take long to recognise when a show is so blatantly targeted at you. Produced by the creators of "My So Called Life", this show attempts to bring together new media, branded entertainment and nostalgia to attract yuppies like me while completely forgoing the TV networks.
The show has been online since November 11th, and I hadn't heard anything about it until I happened to notice a small blurb at the bottom of an interesting NY Times article about the DVD release of the early episodes of Sesame Street. The lack of buzz for the show gives me the impression that it is doomed, but who knows. As for now, I think I'll choose the Sesame Street DVDs.
